About the role
We are looking for a Traffic Consultant with a desire to broaden their experience in Adaptive Traffic Management and Traffic Modelling. The role will entail a variety of activities including developing micro-simulation models, testing traffic control strategies, assisting with customer support for our traffic software products, and working with our software team to further develop the products.
Skills and Experience
The following skills are desirable:
- A degree in a scientific, engineering or transport planning discipline
- A basic understanding of traffic control systems. Experience with any of SCOOT, MOVA, SCATS, Utopia, In-Sync would be beneficial
- Some experience of traffic micro-simulation models such as Vissim, Aimsun, S-Paramics
- Experience of other traffic simulation or modelling tools such as TRANSYT, LinSig, SATURN, VISUM, Synchro
- Experience of traffic signal design or on-street working
- Project management experience
- Experience working with a Local Authority / Municipality
- International experience (US, MENA, Europe and Emerging markets)
Key attributes we are looking for:
- A desire to develop and evaluate innovative traffic control solutions for congestion and network management
The ideal applicant will have three years’ experience of traffic engineering / ITS technologies, applications and deployment in the UK, and will have a solid background of traffic engineering skills. You must be able to work closely with the team and communicate effectively. Foreign language skills would be beneficial, though not essential.
