TRL and TomTom form new partnership and service offering

TRL and TomTom have launched a new partnership today at the ITS World Congress in Vienna to offer more detailed analyses of the results published in TomTom's quarterly Congestion Index which covers major metropolitan areas in Europe and North America - see the latest Q2/2012 reports and league tables at http://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/congestionindex/
(Vienna is currently ranked #12 in Europe, with a congestion index of 28%, compared with Istanbul which is the most congested at 57%.)
TRL traffic consultants are able to work with detailed TomTom data to produce customized analysis which meets the needs of road authorities, urban planners, and public transport operators. As an introductory offer, priced at €8000, the TRL team is offering a customized Congestion Report based on TomTom data which identifies the top 20 congestion hotspots in a metropolitan area, indicating comparative quarterly congestion, plus more detailed results for the top five hotspots, with an analysis of congestion by time of day and day of week.
Through their analysis of the seed points of congestion, TRL consultants are also able to work with road authorities to improve traffic flow and safety, while reducing journey times and stress. In this way TomTom and TRL can deliver innovative solutions with practical benefits. The data is drawn from millions of TomTom users and is the world's largest database of historical travel times.
