Alkali-silica reation in concrete update (2000-2005)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 75 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the susceptibility of concrete to alkali-silica reaction (ASR), especially in concretes containing a proportion of recycled aggregates. Studies on mix designs, specifications for concrete, risk assessment, diagnosis techniques, and intervention strategies for structures affected by ASR are included. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2000 and 2005. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
