Bridge assessment and testing update (2000-2002)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 85 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles that focus on test methods, assessment, evaluation, monitoring and modelling of bridge damage caused by traffic, wind and earthquakes. As well as case studies, abstracts are included on the detection and evaluation of corrosion fatigue, cracking and lowered bearing capacity in steel, concrete and masonry bridges. Non destructive methods of testing, such as radar, sonar, ultrasonics, computer assessment programs and finite element modelling are also included. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 2000 and 2002. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
