Airport access (road/rail) update (2001-2004)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the planning, forecasting, construction and operation of surface access to airports. The various transport modes covered include the private car, bus, high speed train, tram and light rail. Case studies of some recent high speed rail airport links are included e.g. the London Heathrow Express, the guided busway from Crawley to Gatwick Airport, and the substitution of rail services for flights between airports. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2001 and 2004. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
