Bus service improvement (2000-2003)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on ways of improving bus services in urban and rural situations in the United Kingdom and other countries. Topics covered include better planning and integration of bus routes, improved scheduling of services, the use of new technology to provide better passenger information, increased awareness of the needs of bus users, improved vehicle accessibility, case studies of improvement projects that have increased bus patronage, guided busways and infrastructure improvements to bus stops, bus stations and bus routes. Further information may be found in the Current Topics on bus deregulation and bus priority measures. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2000 and 2003. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
