Electric vehicles update (1998-2001)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 75 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on international developments in the technology of electric and dual-mode (hybrid) cars, vans and buses and the ongoing infrastructure needs for their widespread adoption in the market. Subjects covered include the various possibilities for generating electrical power, battery chemistry, comparisons of electrical power with other alternative fuels and the market for electric vehicles. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 1997 and 2001. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
