Highoccupancy vehicle lanes update (2000-2002)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 60 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles that focus on high occupancy vehicle lanes (HOVs). Specific topics covered include the policy of creating and marketing HOVs, the construction and conversion of existing lanes into HOVs and HOV effectiveness in countering congestion and pollution. Their combination with toll roads for single occupancy vehicles, the acceptability of tolling high occupancy vehicles, and the attitudes of road users are explored. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 2000 and 2002. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
