Rail transport operations (1995-1997)

This issue of Current Topics includes 80 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on recent developments in rail transport operations. Amongst the topics covered are privatisation, separation of railway infrastructure and operations, financing, franchising, rail freight developments, noise reduction, high speed rail, tilting trains, and safety issues. Abstracts are included on rail operations in Europe (including central and eastern Europe), North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, as well as the UK. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1995 and 1997. Much of the relevant English language literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) database.
