Transport modelling

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on transport modelling. The abstracts look at the reasons behind modelling such as cost improvements, environmental issues or congestion. Also the types of transport that are modelled such as rail, bus or whole transport networks. Special emphasis is put on urban areas. There are also abstracts on the latest developments in the technology and techniques needed to create the models. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1994-2000. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
