UK Transport Policy Update (2003-2006)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on United Kingdom transport policy studies. There is an emphasis on central and local government studies which are environmentally sustainable, which restrain growth in the use of the private car, and which encourage a modal shift towards the use of public transport, cycling and walking. Other specific topics include parking policy, transport integration, management of urban growth, road user charging, rail policy and social inclusion. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2003 and 2006. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
