Accident statistics and modelling (2005-2008)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the collection and processing of accident statistics, linking accident data sources to obtain new information and modelling of accident statistics. Abstracts are included on accident rate forecasting, injury prediction, estimation of the numbers of unreported accidents, risk assessment, effectiveness of accident prevention measures, correlations with risk factors and comparisons with targets and with other countries. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2005 and 2008. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database
