BUS AND COACH SAFETY - UPDATE (2007-2010)

This issue of Current Topics includes 60 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on safety aspects of bus and coach transport. Abstracts cover accident reports and statistics, the risk of collision with other vehicles or pedestrians, the use of safety belts, driver training, fitting of alcolocks to vehicles, safety at bus stops, perception of safety, bus lane design, occupant protection, vehicle testing, school buses and wheelchair accessibility and restraint. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2007 and 2010. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
