INJURIES FROM TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS - UPDATE (2008-2010)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the injuries that occur to adult vehicle users in different types of traffic accidents including motorcycles. Articles include those involving rear-end collisions, head on collisions, side impacts and overturning. Also included are measures in vehicle design to combat injuries including air bags, seats and head restraints. Methods of predicting injuries from traffic accidents and simulation experiments are included. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2008 and 2010. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
