A computer program to analyse the economics of the trafficking of a sub-base pavement

a computer program designed to analyse the economics of the operation of construction traffic on a sub-base pavement is described. the program examines the overall costs associated with different strategies for paving, transport and sub-base construction with a view to selecting that strategy which minimises the overall cost. options available in the program permit the investigation of the effect, on overall costs, of delays to the paving operations as well as the trafficking of the sub-base by traffic other than paving transport. a detailed example, based on a hypothetical contract, is presented to illustrate the operation of the program.
