A national survey of lorry nuisance

This report describes some of the results of a survey of public attitudes towards lorries and lorry nuisance. The survey involved interviewing 2198 people in Great Britain, and making classified counts of the traffic passing 998 addresses. The main objectives of the work were to obtain national estimates of the extent and severity of lorry nuisance, and to investigate its character. A comparative assessment of the levels of disturbance caused by different sizes of lorry was also included. (A)
