this guide is intended to supplement rrl report no 9 "operation and maintenance of the fischer and porter punched-tape counter". its recommendations are based on many years' experience of automatic traffic counting, particularly as applied to the 50-point census. it covers several aspects of the inspection routine, the provision of supplies, handling of queries, data processing, recording of local events and site liaison visits.(a)
