New web-based carbon calculator released

Date: 11/3/2013

TRL has developed on behalf of the Pipe Jacking Association, a new web-based carbon calculator which comparies open-cut utility installation with non-disruptive solutions, such as pipejacking or microtunnelling, for the installation of sewers and other utilities in urban highways.

Digging up urban roads creates massic carbon emissions compared to non-disruptive tunnelling solutions. Now, savings of up to 75% in carbon emission have been demonstrated by a web-based application (www.pipejackingco2calculator.com).
