TRL has been instrumental in the development of high-level assessment methods for strategic planning that support both statutory and policy-based decision-making processes.
We have particular expertise in assessment of policies, plans and programmes prior to implementation through the formal procedures of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Sustainability Appraisal (SA). We deliver sustainability advice and training to public and private sector organisations to guide the application of SEA/SA in different sectors. We also provide a Quality Review service for Environmental Statements and for draft scoping reports, and can help our clients produce detailed Action Plans for reducing emissions and improving air quality.
TRL conducts detailed impact assessments and monitoring services for air quality, emissions, noise and vibration. With our specialist expertise in these areas we've helped to develop internationally recognised standards and test procedures for the development and evaluation of new mitigation methods.
