The SILVIA ”Guidance Manual For The Implementation of Low-Noise Road Surfaces” is a compilation of the key research and findings of the SILVIA project. The Guidance Manual has been written taking into account that it should be possible to make use of the content without any particular expertise in the subject area. The main body of the text has therefore been drafted with the non-expert in mind.

The electronic version of the Guidance Manual, has been compiled to provide interested readers, experts, academics, etc with full access to the scientific and technical results of the SILVIA project and additional information that is not included in the Guidance Manual.

• Main project outputs: these are the main project deliverables which form the basis of the Guidance Manual. The Cost-Benefit Ananlysis Tool (in the form of an MS Excel spreadsheet) is also included.

These include all relevant intermediate technical reports produced within the project that have been used in preparing the Guidance Manual and which are cited in the text, worked examples using the CBA tool, and other reports produced outside of the SILVIA project that are considered relevant.
