Formula Student at TRL

 Impact testing is a key component of motor sport, with some competitions and governing bodies making it a compulsory part of construction. It helps to see where the weaknesses lie, enabling them to be addressed before a potentially fatal incident occurs. It's a means of avoiding incidents before they actually occur.

Formula Student is a competition bursting with new ideas and concepts - all being produced by engineers of the future. Development at this stage of education is thoroughly encouraged as it helps the young engineering minds to broaden their design horizons and potentially produce the next big industrial concept.

TRL has become a technical supporter of the competition, and we are offering our world class facilities to students at discounted rates to carry out their Impact Attenuator testing.  We are also supporting the development and knowledge of the students' industrial practices. Moreover, we will be utilising our industry recognised experts by assisting the scrutineers at the July event, as well as working closely with the Formula Student committee to develop the safety regulations.

We have designed and built a dynamic test rig specifically for Formula Student teams

Here, at TRL we realise that money shapes the way in which companies operate, especially for students and student run projects where sponsorship is key. We have taken this on board and are offering a service at an extremely affordable cost - just £100 per test.
