TRL in Barcelona for the UNFCCC Climate Talks

Present today in Barcelona will be TRL's Holger Dalkmann participating in a side event "The future of land transport: a final plea on the negotiating text".

This event, which takes place at the Barcelona Convention Centre, will present recent thinking from transport and climate change experts in the form of recommendations for how the negotiating texts could be amended to make better provision for land transport, thereby enabling the sector to play a key role in a low carbon future.

With only weeks left until the UN Climate Change Conference (COP15), the event will provide a "final plea" on the negotiating text to ensure that no barriers will exist for land transport to play a vital role in the Post-2012 framework.

Holger, Team Leader - Environmental Assessment within TRL's Centre for Sustainability, will be delivering key messages on transport and the negotiation text.

Next month, Holger will join a panel discussion at an international symposium on a low carbon transport system, to be held in Copenhagen on December 5. This symposium is a pre-event to the UN Climate Change Conference. More details on this ITPC event can be found at:     www.stl-symposium.org
