Incident Investigation and Reconstruction

Expert advice can be provided with respect to: 

• Pedestrian impacts, specifically with respect to vehicle impact speed and the pre- and post-impact movements of pedestrians.
• Single vehicle loss of control, multi-vehicle collisions, motorcycle and commercial vehicle incidents.
• Tachograph chart examination to determine the speeds of vehicles during specific incidents and we are able to offer advice and assistance where detailed forensic examination is required.
• Vehicle handling and dynamics - we have particular expertise in the interpretation of the effects of failed, damaged or modified vehicle components. Advice can be provided in relation to the dynamic effect of, or the controllability of vehicles with specific defects and advice can be provided with respect to the analysis of the marks created by vehicles with specific defects.

TRL offers a file review/validation service which provides comments and feedback relating to police investigation and other expert reports. This advice is based on the experience, practical knowledge and research findings of our specialists in this field. The lead experts have considerable experience in reviewing and providing comment on accident investigation reports from within other organisations.

We can undertake bespoke testing using our extensive research track facilities to address specific questions relating to collisions of all sorts and vehicle handling.
