Aberdeenshire Council shortlisted for 3 Scottish Transport Awards

Aberdeenshire Council has been shortlisted in three categories for the Scottish Transport Awards - a scheme which recognises the hard work of local transportation services.The team, which forms part of the larger Infrastructure Services department, has made the final cut for nominations in the Local Authority of the Year category, and will also compete for the award for Excellence in Technology and Innovation - as well as Achievements in Cycling.
Having introduced a raft of measures which include a five-year project to remove barriers to cycling in the area, the Council's Chair of Infrastructure Services committee, Councillor Peter Argyle, welcomed the achievement as being indicative of the way in which Aberdeen's transport network has continued to improve.
"These nominations show that Aberdeenshire Council are committed to taking an innovative approach to transport issues.," he said.
"These awards are the most illustrious in the country, and we are delighted to be in contention for three."
