Be Safe Week kicks off at transport museum

London Transport Museum is getting ready to host five days of workshops aimed at teaching children about road safety.According to Transport for London (TfL), the classes are being run as part of Be Safe Week and topics such as travelling by rail, car, river and bus will all be covered.
The first workshop will open on August 22nd and they will run until the 26th, with some of the activities including the chance to get behind the wheel of an interactive vehicle.
London Ambulance Service, the Metropolitan Police, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the London Fire Brigade, the Dog's Trust and TfL's Safety and Citizenship team will all be providing the training in an effort to help educate children about keeping safe in the capital.
Christopher Nix, Head of Learning Development at London Transport Museum, says: "Be Safe Week is an opportunity for London's younger generations to have fun and learn how to get involved in building a safer London."
This year's road safety campaign from Brake will also focus on young people.
The 2 Young 2 Die event aims to reduce the number of under-25s who are killed on the roads each year.
