BMW 5-series named Business Car of the Year

The BMW 5-series has won the top accolade at this year's BusinessCar Awards ceremony.

It was chosen by readers of BusinessCar to be Business Car of the Year 2011, adding to other awards for BMW such as Manufacturer of the Year and Green Model of the Year.

Paul Barker, editor of BusinessCar, said: "The new 5-series earned a very rare ten-out-of-ten BusinessCar road test verdict when it was launched last year and it seems the readers of our magazine and website agree."

Other winners included the Fiat 500, the Mini and the Audi A3 in the City Car, Supermini and Lower Medium categories respectively.

The AA also won the Accident Management award for the second year in a row, beating off competition from RAC in the process.

Last year's winner of the top business car prize was the Volkswagen Golf, with BMW again scooping the Manufacturer of the Year title.
