Bury driving test centre to re-open

Date: 20/3/2012
Bury's practical driving test centre is set to re-open at the end of the month. The Lancashire site will once again run examinations from March 30th following repair works that took place after a burst pipe caused serious damage in 2010.
Regional Operations Manager at the Driving Standards Agency Mark Winn explained work has taken place to reduce the chances of a repeat incident.
As well as boasting improved facilities, the location has also been made more energy efficient.
Road Safety Minister Mike Penning welcomed the change, stating the test centre is an important service for the community.
"I am pleased that candidates in Bury will now be able to take their test at a convenient location that provides an excellent level of service," he said.
Bury is not the only place in the north-west that is seeing changes to its driving test centre, as last month it was announced exams will run from the Paddington House Hotel in Warrington after the town's previous centre closed.
