Chinese transport network 'has great potential for growth'

Date: 19/12/2011
Some of the largest road and bridge infrastructure investments in Asia are being spent on projects in China, a new report has suggested. The Land Transportations Outlook 2012 from Construction IQ noted China, along with Vietnam and India, is a very strong emerging economy and as a result has one of the greatest potentials for growth over the coming years.
Relationships between regional trade partners are driving road and infrastructure developments, the study continued.
It is hoped these will enable rural parts of these countries to be better connected with more developed locations.
The report drew attention to the Asia Highway network as being a positive example, which is being expanded to eventually connect China with nations in south-east Asia.
One enterprise that could take advantage of transport improvements on the continent is 360buy, as it recently purchased new trucks in a bid to improve its delivery system and tackle long-term logistical issues, the Financial Times reported.
