Citroen launches new eco-friendly car

Date: 7/11/2011
A new car has been introduced that could help in the fight to reduce carbon emissions on the UK's roads.Citroen has launched the C3 e-HDi 70 Airdream EGS VTR+, a diesel engine that the manufacturer claims produces the lowest CO2 emissions of all its motors.
First displayed back in September at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, it uses micro-hybrid Stop & Start technology and its emissions level is 87g/km.
Citroen UK Marketing Director Jules Tilstone said people driving the car in London will have the added bonus of not having to pay the capital's congestion charge.
"Citroen is committed to driving down the cost of motoring and this new model is a perfect example of that," he added.
It is not only diesel engines that environmentally-concious drivers may want to purchase, as author of the 2011 Electric Car Guide Michael Boxwell recently suggested electric vehicles are likely to become increasingly popular among those looking for smaller cars.
