DSA to publish regular statistics

Date: 24/2/2012
The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) will now publish regular statistics, starting from this month.Although the organisation already publishes some requested information on its website, a new bulletin will bring together this data, along with other driving test and instructor figures.
The change is taking place as part of the government's transparency policy and the data will be published alongside other statistics from the Department for Transport.
Road Safety Minister Mike Penning explained the new information will include driving test pass rates and other figures that will be useful to those operating in the sector, as well as trainers and road safety organisations.
"I hope that publishing these statistics regularly and to a pre-announced timetable will make this information easier for everyone to access and understand," he added.
The Road Haulage Association recently expressed concern about plans to let learner drivers use motorways before they have passed their test, saying it could compromise both their safety and that of other motorists.
