EasyJet launches new service

EasyJet launches new service

Date: 8/1/2010

Low-cost airline EasyJet is set to launch a new service from George Best Belfast City Airport to Luton.

The service will run twice a day and could replace flights from Belfast International if the airline determines passengers would prefer an airport closer to the city.

Commercial manager for Northern Ireland Trevor Spinks commented: "We are testing the water on the Luton route. With fares from only £21.99 including taxes, bookings so far have been excellent and, if the trend continues, we may provide more flights."

Passengers could benefit from upgrades to the George best City Airport, to be completed early this year. Improvements will include additional retail space and an extended security search facility.

Flights to Gatwick and Stansted will continue to fly from Belfast International. However, alternative routes could be created in the future.
