Date: 7/3/2011
In its ongoing efforts to reduce carbon emissions, the Fiat Group claims to have set a new standard.According to the industry's consultancy and research firm JATO Dynamics, both Fiat's brand and group have recorded the lowest volume of carbon emissions in Europe.
With average carbon emissions of 123.1 g/km, Fiat cars came out above all other vehicle brands in the study for the fourth consecutive year, while it also exceeded the European target of 130 g/km.
Elena Bernardelli, Marketing Director of Fiat Group Automobiles UK and Ireland, said: "Every vehicle we sell is making its own contribution to lowering emissions and playing its part in making the world a cleaner place in which to live."
Elsewhere, recent figures compiled by HPI revealed that fuel efficiency is an increasingly important factor for families when they are buying a used car, although demand for electric vehicles is yet to significantly rise.
