Ford SYNC Emergency Assistance 'will help save lives'

Date: 28/5/2012
New technology from Ford could be of great help to those who have been in a road traffic accident.SYNC Emergency Assistance has the potential to reduce the time taken to respond to incidents as the system alerts the local emergency services to the problem in the correct language, based on GPS coordinates from the motor.
In the US, four million SYNC-equipped Ford motors have already been sold and emergency workers have praised the solution.
It is set to make its European debut this summer and it will feature in the new B-MAX - which was launched at the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year - before being introduced to other vehicles.
By 2015, Ford believes there will be 3.5 million SYNC-enabled cars on the roads.
AA President Edmund King said: "We believe that Ford's pioneering Emergency Assistance technology can help save lives."
He added that the organisation thinks this is a feature that should be used in all new vehicles.
