Date: 14/6/2013
A new BBC documentary is set to detail the work that (TfL) Transport for London does in order to keep the capital's roads and buses moving on a daily basis.Titled Route Masters - Running London's Roads, the programme will show how the city handles 700 bus routes and caters for the 21 million journeys that are made through its streets every day.
Aired in six parts, the series will begin on Tuesday (June 19th) on BBC2, and will be aired at the same time of 21:00 BST each week.
In addition to detailing the intricacies involved with directing around 8,500 buses, the documentary will also reveal how TfL's plans are designed to cope with the dramatic population growth London is expected to witness in the coming years.
Leon Daniels, TfL's Managing Director of Surface Transport, said: "The real stars of this series are the fantastic staff at TfL and our wider family of contractors who work 24/7, many of them unseen, to keep the Capital's roads and streets moving."
