Green transport measures 'can help enhance brand'

Adopting green transport measures can be an important way for companies to boost the appeal of their brand, an expert has claimed.Alan Aldridge, Executive Director of the Energy Services and Technology Association, has highlighted the key role that brand value plays in attracting new customers and capitalising on those who are already interested in the business.
He said that there is a common misconception that only commercial organisations need to worry about this but he said that every organisation or authority relies on this to some extent.
"With the general public, brand is important. Is it a green company? Is it a responsible company? Do I want to buy my products off your shelf? The brand can be very important," he explained.
The importance of these values for consumers is being reinforced by a new partnership between Transport for London and Recyclebank, which offers incentives such as deals and discounts for people who make environmentally-sound transport decisions.
