Ilkley plans event to highlight transport options for older residents

Date: 19/2/2013

A local group in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, will be holding a showcase event designed to highlight the transport options available to older residents.

As the Telegraph & Argus reports, the LS29 Mutual Support Group plans to set a date for either May or June after taking into account the issues that were raised at its last meeting.

Efforts are currently being made in the area to address the transport concerns of older residents, and it is hoped that the event will help to make locals more aware of the options that are on offer when it comes to getting around.

The slogan of the showcase will be "Don't Let Getting There Stop You," with attendees set to be asked to share the methods of transport they used to get to the Clarke Foley Centre in Cunliffe Road.

Representatives of organisations that work with older residents will be invited to the event, as well as those who are able to offer transportation to local pensioners.
