Large organisations 'should embrace electric cars'

Date: 24/11/2011
Electric cars have the potential to be more widely utilised by businesses in the UK, an expert believes.Roddy Graham, Commercial Director of vehicle management provider Leasedrive, said these motors would be ideal for an organisation such as the Post Office.
He explained the enterprise often operates in cities where there are plenty of charging points and does not need to run its vans constantly.
This means there is "more of an ample charging time," he stated, noting the same applies for black cabs in London and other large urban areas.
Mr Graham claimed although the idea may not currently be cost-effective, "electric vehicles can find their place [in the market]" and will be worth the purchase in the future as infrastructure improves.
Michael Boxwell, Website Editor and Author of the 2011 Electric Car Guide, recently claimed electric vehicles are becoming increasingly mainstream and will soon be commonplace among cars up to the size of a Ford Focus.
