London businesses 'should make the most of Olympic opportunities'

Date: 14/7/2011
The 2012 Olympic Games will present businesses in the UK capital with opportunities they should take advantage of.Such is the opinion of Transport for London (TfL) and London 2012, who have this week announced the launch of a new online tool that companies can use to help them prepare for next summer's event.
In addition, 'Travel Advice for Business' workshops are to be run in 'transport hotspots' across the city, which employers in these areas will be eligible to attend for free.
From August, firms with multiple premises and more than 200 employees can attend the workshops to receive bespoke recommendations on how best to manage the effect the Olympics will have on their workers' commutes, their deliveries, servicing and freight.
There will also be 50 free workshops across the UK that small businesses with less than 200 staff members will be able to attend.
Leon Daniels, Managing Director of Surface Transport at TfL, says: "Our new free travel advice programmes greatly enhance the support available for companies set to be affected by the London 2012 Games, whether they are a large restaurant chain or a local corner shop."
It was announced yesterday (July 13th) by the Olympic Delivery Authority that the International Broadcast Centre is the fifth venue to be completed at the main park.
