Low-carbon vans available for test drives at EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show

Low-carbon vans available for test drives at EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show

Date: 27/2/2012

Businesses will have the opportunity to test drive ultra low-carbon vans at the upcoming EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show.

Taking place on April 18th at Silverstone race track, the event will have commercial vehicles like the Renault's Kangoo ZE and Smith Electric Vehicles' new Edison and Newton on offer.

Organisers said this is the perfect opportunity for fleet operators to come and try out some new eco-friendly motors following the government's announcement that the plug-in car grant will now be extended to include vans.

Event organiser and Fleet World Managing Editor Ross Durkin said: "The fact that we will have a range of experts on hand to discuss these topics will make it a really worthwhile experience for fleet managers."

Among the vans that qualify for the plug-in grant are the Renault Kangoo ZE, the Ford Transit Connect Electric and the Mercedes-Benx Vito E-CELL.

To be eligible, commercial vehicles must be able to travel 60 miles between each charge, emit less than 75g/km of CO2 and reach speeds of more than 50mph.
