Michelin Group launches road safety Facebook game

The Michelin Group has launched a new road safety initiative on Facebook.Called Tom European Tour, the initiative is aimed at young people or those who are learning to drive.
They will go on a virtual tour of seven countries with a character named Tom and are asked to answer questions and take part in games that address road safety issues.
These include following speed limits, being aware of changing weather conditions and anticipating hazards on the road ahead.
Launched as part of the Road Safety for Young People in Europe initiative, the game will be available on Facebook from April 17th to June 8th.
It is hoped it will encourage young motorists to take road safety seriously, as well as teach them about laws in other countries.
Research conducted by the Institute of Advanced Motorists recently discovered 58 per cent of drivers have been cut up by other motorists who were not looking properly when behind the wheel and the Michelin training could discourage young people from getting into this habit.
