New airport advice guide could help those with disabilities

New airport advice guide could help those with disabilities

Date: 18/2/2011

A new guide has been created with the aim of providing assistance to those with disabilities who are planning to visit an airport.

The Disabled and Reduced Mobility Airport Guide from car parking comparison website Parkat covers a multitude of accessibility issues that may be experienced by such individuals at airports.

It has been designed to take the stress and worry out of visiting these facilities and includes advice on travelling with visual or audio impairments, boarding flights with guide dogs, travelling with autism, wheelchair access and carrying medication.

In addition, people can use the guide to find out more about the help that is available to them at airports, such as car parking assistance, what to do on arrival or when taking a return journey.

People travelling with disabilities are advised to contact their airline before they travel to ensure it is aware of any special requirements they may have.
