New buses introduced in Angola

Date: 12/3/2012
Angola has been working to improve its road transport network, thus creating new jobs.Speaking in Luanda over the weekend, the country's Transport Minister Augusto da Silva Tomas explained how more than 5,000 new buses have been introduced, creating 25,000 employment opportunities, Angola Press reports.
He discussed this at the launch of the first inter-province terminal of TCUL, which is the nation's public transport organisation.
This will see new buses operated in the cities of Benguela, Sumbe, Ndalatando, Calulo, Huambo, Malange and Uige.
Mr Tomas stated the group must continue to invest in transport and spend money training its employees to ensure passengers receive the best possible service.
"It is also necessary to pay special attention, above all, to the area of maintenance [of the buses] and provide training for those who will be using the means," he said.
These are not the only improvements being made to Angola's transport network, as Zambian Foreign Minister Given Lubinda noted last week that developing the country's railways will be key to promoting trade in Africa, the news provider stated.
