New MOVA distribution agreement announced

New MOVA distribution agreement announced

Date: 29/3/2011

The seventh edition of Microprocessor Optimised Vehicle Actuation (MOVA) will soon enjoy an additional route to the junction signal market, thanks to a new distribution agreement between TRL and Motus Traffic.

After recently shipping MOVA 7 to signal companies ready to be integrated into product portfolios and controllers, TRL was keen to find new ways of reaching clients.

To date, more than 300 traffic junctions go live using MOVA every year, with almost 4,000 now under the control of the technology - which was originally designed to manage signals at isolated crossroads.

As part of this new partnership, Motus will develop MOVA units that can be supplied along with its Motus TM15 Traffic Signal Controllers - which have been approved as TR2500-compliant.

The units will also be provided as a standalone product, which can then be integrated at the site with traffic signal controllers manufactured by a third party.

In addition, Motus has joined Siemens, Peek and Telent as members of the MOVA Development Group.

Jim Booth, Managing Director of Motus Traffic, said the integration of the technology represented the next step in the company's expansion strategy.

MOVA was designed by TRL during the 1980s and today is a well-established traffic control strategy.
