New partnership to develop ITS in Abu Dhabi

Alliance, a provider of Intelligent Transport Solution (ITS) in Abu Dhabi, has partnered with Advanced Interactive Media Solutions (AIMS), to work on a project developing smart gates for highways and cities in the UAE.

AIMS will design and develop the content management application for the new ITS, which will be fully showcased at the upcoming GulfTraffic exhibition.

Ahmed ElRidi, chief executive of AIMS, said: "It is a pleasure to partner with Alliance for this very important undertaking that will surely have a tremendous positive impact on the traffic situation in the country."

He went on to explain how this project underlines the importance of digital signage technology to address the transport challenges faced by society.

Utilising content management solutions, the internet, interactive displays, mobile apps and other communication technologies, AIMS hopes to develop a completely comprehensive system.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi's UAE neighbour, has also recently expressed an interest in developing an ITS, citing Japan as a good example to follow.
