New route to be introduced between NY and Manchester

American Airlines is set to introduce a new route between New York and Manchester, it has revealed.

From May 13th, flights will depart daily from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York to Manchester.

Boeing 757 aircrafts are to be used on the route.

It is hoped to new route will benefit New Yorkers looking to explore Manchester and other cities in the region such as Liverpool and Chester.

Chief executive of Marketing Manchester Andrew Stokes commented: "We're delighted that American Airlines is increasing its operation into Manchester. We welcome the opportunity to work with them on promoting Manchester to the New York market."

He added that the business community will also be able to benefit from the route, particularly international delegates attending conferences and exhibitions in Manchester's convention centres.

American Airlines is also introducing new routes between John F Kennedy International Airport and San Jose, Costa Rica and Madrid, Spain.

A total of 28 million passengers are served by the Manchester Airports Group every year.
