Date: 16/2/2012
Last year was a record 12 months for online car sales, it has been revealed.British Car Auctions (BCA) explained it sold 120,000 units over the internet in 2011, which was a "significant" increase on 2010's total.
This year, 3,198 motors were purchased by Live Online buyers between January 16th and 21st, suggesting a continued trend for this type of transaction.
Commercial Director at the organisation D'Vidis Jacobs said: "BCA continues to develop its online offering to ensure that our customers can buy and sell used vehicles online 24/7, 365 days a year."
He added that the company is developing new web-based platforms that are likely to see the sector develop even further over the coming months.
This is not the only change that has occurred in the car-buying market, as research conducted by the Finance & Leasing Association recently revealed a growth in the number of people buying motors using dealer finance.
