Passengers in the capital have praised the London Overground.According to the National Passenger Survey, following the network's £1.4 billion investment from Transport for London (TfL), commuters now see it as more frequent, reliable and welcoming.
Indeed, some respondents said the authority was helping to set the standards for rail travel.
The poll, carried out by Passenger Focus, also revealed that 85 per cent of travellers are satisfied with the overall level of service on the London Overground, while 74 per cent were impressed at the frequency of the trains.
Furthermore, those satisfied with the punctuality of trains rose to 76 per cent, from 68 per cent in 2009.
Kulveer Ranger, the Mayor of London's Transport Advisor, said: "These scores illustrate that Londoners have seen real improvements to our Overground services since TfL took responsibility for them."
In related news, TfL recently announced a multi-million pound sponsorship deal with MasterCard that will see the credit card provider branding Oyster card wallets for 2011.
