Peugeot to debut new low-carbon vehicles

Date: 16/2/2012

Peugeot has created a low-carbon vehicle that will be launched at the EV & Low CO2 Fleet Show at Silverstone race track.

The 208 supermini is described as being "ultra-green" and comes in three diesel engines types and one petrol, all producing emissions of less than 99g/km.

Peugeot will also introduce the 508 RXH, which features diesel-electric HYbrid4 technology and emits 107g/km of CO2.

Ross Durkin, Managing Editor of Fleet World, which organised the event on April 18th, stated: "This year's show will give fleet decision makers a unique insight into the many and varied engine technologies that are available today."

Eco-friendly motors from other manufacturers such as Toyota and Lexus will also be on display.

Mr Durkin added the event will give visitors the chance to speak to independent experts about the future of low-carbon cars.

Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders revealed alternatively-fuelled vehicles accounted for 1.6 per cent of new car registrations in November last year, which was a record total for the sector.
