Record turnout expected for low-carbon vehicle show

Record turnout expected for low-carbon vehicle show

Date: 11/8/2011

The leading low-carbon vehicle event in the UK - LCV2011 - will take place from September 7th to 8th, with record numbers of manufacturers and innovators predicted to be in attendance.

Organiser Cenex, the Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technologies, has claimed that this year the available indoor space for exhibitors at the venue - Rockingham Motor Speedway in Corby, Northamptonshire - will have increased 40 per cent compared to the last show.

This will allow 67 innovators in the automobile and infrastructure technology sectors to showcase their products.

Already confirmed to exhibit their goods are major brands such as Nissan, Jaguar Land Rover, Ford and Toyota, among others.

Meanwhile, Mark Prisk, Minister for Business and Enterprise, will open a conference programme, where speakers will include former Minister of State for Science and Innovation Lord Paul Drayson and Jerry Hardcastle, Chair of the Technology Group of the Automotive Council.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to test-drive the latest hybrid, electronic and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

This is the fourth LCV show, which aims to stimulate consumer and business awareness of the products set to come to market in the near future.
