Date: 17/7/2013
London's biggest ever cycling event is set to take place on Saturday August 3rd and Sunday August 4th, causing significant disruption to the capital's roads.Prudential RideLondon will see a large number of roads and bridges in London closed over the weekend, affecting east, central and south-west London, as well as parts of Surrey.
London Transport Commissioner Sir Peter Hendy CBE recommends that road users plan ahead for the weekend and use different transportation to get to their destination.
"During the London 2012 Games, Londoners and businesses took sensible steps to plan ahead and adapt their travel," he said.
"I'm urging everyone to do that once again so that they don't get caught out, and can continue to get around and enjoy the weekend."
The main events of RideLondon are the Surrey100 and Classic, which are races leaving from Queen Elizabeth Park, riding through London to Surrey and finish at The Mall in central London.
